Our Story
Education Curated was founded in 2020 by Brittany Kielar, a mother of three and educator based in South Florida.
When Brittany met her now stepchildren, then ages 6 and 7, their father was navigating life as a widower. Overnight, she stepped into both motherhood and advocacy. Her daughter was struggling with early reading skills, and her son, later diagnosed with high-functioning autism and ADHD, faced challenges with behavior, focus, and regulation.
Even with a father who held degrees from Dartmouth and Northwestern, the widower still found himself unprepared to navigate the complexity of the K–12 system. He wasn’t always asking the right questions, getting the right answers, or equipped with strategies at home.
That’s when Brittany began creating interventions to support her children’s growth. What she was really building were executive function skills, focus, planning, and self-regulation, that research from Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child shows are stronger predictors of lifelong success than IQ.
This experience sparked the idea for Education Curated: a trusted source where families, professionals, and organizations can access research-based guidance to build the skills and systems needed to thrive with clarity, confidence, and care.
