Education Curated was founded in 2020 by Brittany Kielar, a mother of 3 and educator based in South Florida. Brittany met her two oldest children when they were 5 and 7 while falling in love with their father, whose first wife had passed away from cancer. At the time, neither child was reaching their full potential in the areas of emotional, social and academic growth. Her daughter aged 5 was struggling with age appropriate reading skills. Her son, then aged 7, had some behavior issues stemming from a diagnosis of high functioning autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
She realized while their father was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Northwestern University, he simply didn’t know what he didn’t know about the K-12 education system. He didn’t know how to work effectively with teachers and administrators, and didn’t realize he wasn’t asking the right questions or getting the proper answers. That’s where Brittany started creating interventions to help her children succeed and the idea for Education Curated was born. Brittany wanted to create a trusted source for parents to turn to to help them provide opportunities for their children to reach their full potential.
